Why Base & Roses Meals And Boxes Don’t Contain Animal Products

Capitalism requires both humans and non-human animals to be exploited in order for continual profit to be maintained. This profit is not for our benefit, we are given only as much as is required for us to go along with a corrupt system where the rich, the government, the landowners and the landlords always benefit from the efforts of the working class.

For non-human animals the situation isn’t much different. They are used for food, clothing, sport, entertainment and companionship. They have little autonomy and are frequently discarded when they no longer serve a purpose for human beings.

Many animals bred for food are kept in filthy confined conditions, many are taken away from their families at a young age and all suffer a brutal death.

The dairy industry is especially brutal. Female cows are impregnated each year. Their calves are taken away at just a few days old leaving their mothers often calling for them for days.

The calves, frightened and still only babies will be reared either to go back into the dairy herd or slaughtered for food. A lot of suffering and trauma so that humans can drink the milk of another species.

Base and Roses supports animal liberation and wants to see a world where animals are valued as individuals and don’t exist to make money for humans. This can only happen with an end to this capitalist society where everyone is valued according to their economic potential.
